Who We Are:

This blog is made up of 40 amazing creative writing students and me, their teacher. We work and learn at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Our school is made up of a little over 2400 students, 1100 of which are being rezoned next year to the new high school in our district. Unfortunately, some of the students whose work is highlighted here will be among those leaving.

Why We Blog:

I started this blog with the hope that my students get out of their writer’s notebooks and experience writing for the world. They are really talented, and I feel like this platform is a small step toward publishing their work. By using Edublogs, a site specifically for blogging in the classroom,  there is an inherent sense of security that teachers and administrators must consider, PLUS the added bonus of a ready-made audience of similar goals.
